The September meeting was held at
Merrymeeting Airport.
President Charlie Gabelmann called the meeting to
order at 1920.
1.
SECRETARIES REPORT
Everett Perkins made a motion to
accept the Secretaries repot as posted on the web sit.
This was seconded by Russell Keith, and passed
unanimously.

ACE CAMP
Charlie Gabelmann reported that Max
Renaud attended the ACE Camp, and had a great time.
He had a flight in a Blackhawk helicopter.
He also took a flight to Syracuse in a Globe
Swift and was able to rake the controls.
In the absence of the treasurer, Richard DeVito
wrote a check to Lawrence Renaud in the amount of $495
to pay for the ACE CAMP.
Charlie Gabelmann will give the check to Mr.
Renaud on behalf of the Chapter.
4.
YOUNG EAGLES
Everett Perkins reported that we
had about 14 kids at the Lewiston Young Eagles day on
August 15. The
low turnout was mainly due to very hot weather.
Everett stated we should schedule future Young
Eagle days about 60 days in advance of the event.
This will give Everett time to arrange
advertising with minimum outlay of Chapter funds. Everett submitted an invoice for the Lewiston expenses,
amounting to $313.35, and $301.50 was advertising costs.
Everett also covered planned
procedures for the Young Eagles event scheduled at
Wiscasset on October 3rd.
He will send out an e-mail requesting pilot and
ground crew participation.
Members had a lengthy discussion on
a system to provide a photo to the Young Eagle
participants. Options
include a digital Polaroid camera with a built in
printer, and stand alone printers.
Russell Keith accepted an action item to
investigate the available options and discuss his
findings with Charlie Gabelmann.
Leo Leclair made a motion that Russell is allowed
to spend up to $500 + 10% to procure the photo system in
time for use at Wiscasset on Oct 3rd.
The motion was seconded by Everett Perkins and
passed unanimously.
5.
GENERAL
The Greenville fly in is scheduled
for September 10 through 13.
Bingham is the following week.
Mark Hayden reported that 5
aircraft flew in for his picnic on August 22nd.
Russell Keith reported that the USA
authorities have rescinded a policy that allowed
Canadian Charter aircraft to make multiple stops in the
USA. This
has caused a problem for Canadian sport teams traveling
to the USA for games.
It is expected that the Canadian authorities will
reciprocate.
