The April meeting was held at The Old Bowdoin School.
President Charlie Gabelmann called the Meeting to
order at 1925 with a quorum of Board Members in
attendance.
1.
ACE CAMP
Charlie Gabelmann reported that the
chapter has selected a candidate for Ace Camp.
His name is Josh, and he flew with Leo Leclair as
a Young Eagle. He is a CAP cadet and is building his own aircraft.
2.
YOUNG EAGLES
Members agreed to have two Young
Eagle events this year.
The first will be held in June and the second in
October, most likely at Wiscasset in conjunction with
their 50-year anniversary as an airport.
3.
PROGRAM
The major part of the meeting was a
presentation by Dave Pepple from the FAA.
Dave spoke in depth on procedures for obtaining
an Airworthiness Certificate for experimental aircraft.

Applicants should state that the
aircraft is for your own education or recreation.
Only the builder can install or
remove the data plate
New aircraft require 12-inch
numbers
12-inch numbers required in the ADIZ
2 inch numbers ok for 30-year-old aircraft, or those
that look like 30 year old aircraft
Airworthiness certificate must be
displayed so it is visible to passengers and crew.
Registration cannot be issued until
proof of ownership is established.
Manufacturers service bulletins are
not mandatory
ADs apply only to approved parts

MAY MEETING
The May meeting will be held on May
11 at the Old Bowdoin School, 1201 South Main Street
(Route 125) starting at 1900.
Directions to the school—
From the
North, take I-295 south to exit 37 at Bowdoinham.
Turn right at the exit and then take the first
right onto 125 South.
Continue about 1.8 miles to Rte 201.
Cross Rte 201 and continue on Rte 125 for an
additional 0.8 miles.
The school is on the left.
Look for a large white fence.
If desired, you can take Rte 201 to Rte 125
rather than using I-295.
There are flashing lights at the intersection of
201 and 125.
From the
South, take I-295 north to exit 37 at Bowdoinham.
Turn left at the exit and then take the first
